When to use it

  • You are bleeding and have no proper bandage
  • Building a splint for a broken leg
  • Starting a fire — rags make good tinder

Important notes

  • Undisinfected rags are a common cause of wound infection
  • Disinfect with a tincture or spray before bandaging
  • One shirt yields several rags
