  • 1xChlorine tablet, or a fireplace to boil it

Steps

  1. 1Fill a container from any water source
  2. 2Drop in a chlorine tablet and wait for it to finish
  3. 3Or place a pot or canteen on a fireplace and boil it

Useful notes

  • Purify before drinking — a tablet taken afterwards does nothing
  • Town water pumps are always safe and need no treatment
  • Boiling is free if you already have a fire going

Why it matters

Drinking straight from a pond is the most common way new players catch cholera.
