  • Knife, shovel, pickaxe or similar digging toolnot consumed

Steps

  1. 1Dig up an Earthworm from soft soil or a garden plot
  2. 2Attach the earthworm to a compatible fishing hook
  3. 3Attach the baited hook to the fishing rod

Useful notes

  • Several tools can dig worms — a knife works, not just a shovel
  • Guts from a skinned animal also work as bait
  • Bait is consumed as you fish, so gather plenty

Why it matters

Without bait the rod is just a stick with string on it.
